A major upgrade is being carried out by the Fiji Roads Authority on the Dreketi Feeder Road in Vanua Levu.

This is part of the periodic road maintenance program to provide access in the Central, Eastern and the Northern Division.

Located off the Labasa/Nabouwalu Road, Dreketi Feeder Road is almost midway between Labasa and Savusavu.

The road serves the Government station, two schools, fourteen villages, seven settlements and a shopping centre.

Mesake Tabuaciri, a church pastor and Justice of Peace in Dreketi, says the location has a special significance for people selling food to travelers.

The road has been stabilized compacted and will be sealed.
