Farmers in Dreketi will now be able to use three additional tractors, an excavator and other rice-farming materials.

The farmer received these from the Government to help maximise production.

While handing over the farming implements to Fiji Rice Limited, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh Karan said there was a need to rejuvenate the rice industry in the country.

He says Fiji was once self-sufficient through effective agricultural methods and the utilization of idle lands.

The farming materials will assist farmers in land preparation and cultivation.
