More than one hundred houses in Drauniivi in Rakiraki have been destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Only a few remain standing but without roofs.

One of the villagers, Manoa Waqa says they will need assistance to rebuild their lives and fix their crumbled homes.

Waqa says when Cyclone Winston struck the village; they ran to the school and to the chief’s house to find shelter.

He says the school was also damaged and their root crops including all livestock.
More than 200 villagers live in Drauniivi, Rakiraki in Ra.
