Fulton Hogan Hiways workers are clearing the drainage at Belego settlement in the North to prevent flooding.

The work is being carried out under the Fiji Roads Authority’s maintenance programme to provide access to Central, Northern and the Eastern Divisions.

FHH’s Savusavu Depot Supervisor, Pradeep Singh, says this work was needed as it is the main reason for flooding.

Work included removing wrecked culverts and installing five new cross culverts, clearing 700 meters of the blocked drain and clearing high shoulders.
