Printed copies of the Draft Constitution were not burnt nor were they shredded.

Army Land Force Commander, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga claims the copies were confiscated by police and are currently being kept at the Police headquarters.

Constitution Commission chair, Professor Yash Ghai told Radio Australia, that copies of the draft constitution were shredded and set on fire in front of him.

Colonel Tikoitoga refuted Ghai’s claims.

He says the draft copies were printed, something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

The government maintains, Professor Ghai or anyone for that matter had no authority to print copies of the Draft Constitution.
