The Fiji Society for the Blind has received a timely donation to help pay for a new seven seater school bus which cost about seventy nine thousand dollars.

Executive Director Barbara Farouk says they reached out to the commercial sector and were pleased to get a speedy response from Vinod Patel which donated $10,000.

Farouk says the old school bus had become expensive and unreliable after years of use.

“We were having difficulty in picking and dropping our children to and from school and we had one fifteen sitter but it was requiring a lot of maintenance.”

Vinod Patel’s Human Resource Development Officer Ranju Kumar says the donation was part of their community work.
