Ten women today displayed platters of different kinds of sweets that are usually associated with Diwali during the Mirchi FM Thali competition in Suva.
FBC Mirchi FM Program Director, Renuka Goundar says the competition showcased various cooking talents of women in making sweets and meals for the festival of lights.
“Diwali Thali competition is basically where ladies bring in their thali’s which is decorated plates full of various sweets that we usually have for Diwali and mostly vegetarian foods as well. So this is what Diwali is about too.”
The best Thali platter was awarded to Yogi Mehta who walked away with two hundred and fifty dollars.
Farisha Shabnam came in second place, winning a hundred and fifty dollars while Razia Noor was awarded third place winning a hundred dollars cash.
