Diwali an exciting time for Fijians: PM

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says Diwali marks one of the most exciting and festive times to be a Fijian as we celebrate this joyous national holiday.

Bainimarama says Diwali presents an opportunity to come together and share the joy of our Hindu brothers and sisters.

He says Diwali has always brought Fijians together, as a nation to rejoice and give thanks for all the magnificent blessings that have been bestowed upon us.

Bainimarama says it’s a time to strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together – to be kind to others and extend hospitality to our neighbours.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also extended his greeting to all Fijians.

“Obviously very lucky in Fiji, that we get to celebrate all the major significant festivals that is held in the world and of course Diwali is a fantastic moment for people to share with their family members, friends and of course the nation.”

Diwali will be celebrated today throughout the country by Hindus.
