The Divisional Police Commander West – SSP Marika Yalimaiwai says they are currently deploying their officers to all centers to monitor the situation.

Yalimaiwai says the teams are working together with district officers to help people secure their homes and move to higher grounds where there is a need.

Meanwhile,a directive has been given to all public transport operators in the Central Division to cease operations from this hour.

This is done to restrict and deter movement of people.
