Disaster Risk management to address Climate Change

The first National Platform for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change discussion has been launched in Lami.

Minister for Works Colonel Timoci Lesi Natuva in his speech said sustainable development cannot be achieved if disaster risks and climate change issues are not addressed appropriately.

“May this platform reshape our thinking and change our mindsets towards our approach to disaster risks and climate change .Share, learn , and discuss form each other and provide a firm platform that will reduce risk and promote resilient development to our economy and community.”

With the theme Reducing Disaster Risk and Climate Change Vulnerability through Resilient development the workshop provides the challenge for participants to come up with recommendations and solutions in the next four days.
