Digicel Fiji has confirmed its plans for Sky Pacific are on hold at the moment.

Chief Executive Darren McLean confirms any operational changes to Sky Pacific including improvements to programming are waiting final approval by the Minister of Communications before they can be implemented.

Communications Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum last night put out a statement that his ministry is still to issue a pay TV broadcast license to Digicel Fiji.

Sayed-Khaiyum says it’s premature for Digicel to announce any programming or content materials before the issuance of a license.

A decision is expected in due course.
