The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is urging Fijians to destroy all mosquito breeding places.

Chief Health Inspector, Dip Chand, says people need to properly dispose containers that can hold water and provide breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

“Clean up campaigns can drastically reduce the frequency of outbreaks and severity of the cases. So this is what we have seen that clean up campaigns have really mattered. If you keep breeding grounds around your houses clean that will drastically reduce the numbers of mosquitoes breeding.”
