The driver of the vehicle that allegedly caused the death of a 6 year old student in February at Delaidamanu Road in Naitasiri has been bailed for $500.

The driver was charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death.

It is alleged that the 29 year-old lost control of his vehicle and hit the student who was walking on the side of the road with two friends.

The driver was allegedly assaulted by villagers after the accident and has since been admitted in hospital.

The case has been adjourned to the 24th of this month.
