A defense lawyer in a rape case expressed his disappointment on inconsistencies in the charge sheet when the case was called in the Suva High Court yesterday.
34-year-old Rajnesh Kamal Narayan is alleged to have raped a 16-year-old girl on the night of September 13th last year at Suva Point.
Narayan’s lawyer told the court yesterday that in the current disclosure, reference was made to the complaint filed at the Totogo Police Station however the date on the complaint file and disclosures vary.
Therefore he claims the statements are not correct.
Judge Justice Salesi Temo told the defense to resolve the issues.
Bail has been extended to the accused and the matter has been adjourned to February 18th, 2018.
