February 21, 2018 1:39 am

Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum says that decisions and deliberations made at the CCEM Ministerial meeting will provide the policy and guidance that will shape the education agenda in the Commonwealth for the next three years.

While chairing the meeting this morning, Sayed-Khaiyum says the result of their meeting will impact the people of the Commonwealth.

“The purpose of the conference is not only to encourage genuine exchange of views on the theme but to recommend and agree practical policy actions that we as Ministers can implement in our countries after this conference.”

Sayed-Khaiyum says they must all work together as no government can afford to operate in silence.

He adds that the meeting is timely as there is ten more weeks before the next Commonwealth heads of government meeting in UK in April.

The meeting will end on Friday.
