The House of Representatives is expected to debate on vote of a motion of no confidence against the Speaker Dr. Jiko Luveni.

FBC News has confirmed the motion was filed by the Opposition.

Repeated attempts to get confirmation from SODELPA MPs have been unsuccessful.

However, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the government side is looking forward to the debate when it comes.

Bainimarama says these attempts by SODELPA and the Opposition leader to get into government will never succeed.

“Seriously, you know, why she can’t become Prime Minister of Fiji because the people didn’t vote her to become Prime Minister of Fiji…She first should get her house organised first, get her party organised-make sure that everybody listens to her first. Right now her party is divided, I don’t know in twos, threes, fours or fives. She can’t even have that organised, how can she organise the people of Fiji.”

Also a motion for a Vote of No Confidence was brought against the PM and was submitted to the Office of the Speaker by Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa.

The motion was later withdrawn by SODELPA member Semesa Karavaki, before it could come to a debate.
