Fiji Revenue and Customs Services Chief Executive Visvanath Das has been appointed as the Chair for the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators Management Committee.
This is the first time for a Pacific Island Country to hold the position of Chair.
Das says he looks forward to Fiji’s term as Chair and the opportunity to work with members to take CATA to new heights.
He says this is another milestone achievement for FRCS in terms of Fiji providing leadership towards an international organization such as CATA.
Das adds his focus will not just be about meeting member needs but to ensure the preparedness of administrations for the future, particularly with emerging issues such as technology, big data and artificial intelligence.
Fiji will hold this position for 3 years.
