Dancing driver to face the music

September 5, 2012 1:07 am

The bus driver on a Youtube video – busy dancing to the Azonto song – has been identified.

The Land Transport Authority has confirmed the driver and the company owner will be hauled in to face the music.

In the video, the driver gets off his seat while dancing, he also lets go of the steering wheel and lifts his legs off the pedals.

LTA General Manager Operations Josefa Vosanibola says he won’t be getting behind the steering wheel once they’re done with him.

“Normally we advice them or warn them – but due to the severity of the incident that we have seen in the video clip – I think we will probably deem for suspension or termination of the drivers license.”

He adds the company may also face fines…

“Irrespective of being a PSV driver or a private vehicle driver – everybody has been taught about safe driving that is both hands should be on the wheels and the driver must focus on the road at all time. This driver here was way out of line.”

The video was uploaded a few days ago and has left commuters outraged at the callous behaviour of the driver – not paying any heed to the safety of passengers.
