A damaging heavy swell alert remains in force for low lying coastal areas of Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Southern Lau group, Mamanuca group, Southern and Western Viti-Levu.

The Nadi Meteorological Services says sea flooding is likely especially during high tides.

The Met Services says a high pressure system together with a low pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji generates and directs moderate to heavy southerly swells towards the Fiji group.

The swells are expected to become damaging over Fiji waters from tomorrow.

The high tide today is at 3.30pm.
