Cyclone Daphne no longer a threat

*Flood waters have receded in most parts of Fiji and there is no more threat of flooding says the weather office.

Duty Forecaster – Sanjay Prakash says Tropical Cyclone Daphne has moved away and poses no more threat to Fiji.

He adds although periods of rain will be experienced for the next two days, it won’t lead to flooding.

He says those living in evacuation centres can now return home.

“We have lifted the severe flood warning for Viti Levu, we have also cancelled the strong wind warning however the active trough of low pressure remains over the group. Due to this we anticipate we expect rain and thunderstorms in most places."
