The current cold weather and dry spell is not unusual for this time of the year.
Fiji Meteorological Services Director Ravin Kumar says this weather is typical of the dry season.
“Yes, especially in the dry seasons the temperatures are much cooler than what we normally see in the months of November to February then from May to August and September the temperatures are cooler; its normal nothing is unusual at the moment.”
Over the past two months inland temperatures have fallen below 16 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius.
Kumar says the current weather sees a trough of low pressure with associated clouds and showers affecting the Fiji Group.
