A week-long exhibition on China Intangible Culture has begun offering Fijians an opportunity to gain an insight into the rich and abundant Chinese history and culture.
China Cultural Centre Director, Xiantu Deng says the exhibition has brought the wonderful and profound Chinese culture closer to Fiji, deepening cultural exchange and promoting co-operation between the two countries.
”Sixteen people from Fiji attended the Intangible cultural program in China so at the same time we have brought sixteen people mostly artisans from China to Fiji. They are here to promote China in Fiji.”
The exhibition comprises the display of wood engraving, painted clay figures, straw collage, paper cutting and embroidery products among others.
With Fiji enriched with cultural diversity and ancient heritage, authorities say the Chinese way of promoting and protecting heritage can be a practical lesson for all Fijians.
