Crushing season for Lautoka Sugar Mill ends tonight

November 23, 2015 11:16 pm

The Lautoka Sugar Mill will end its 2015 crushing season this evening.

Fiji Sugar Corporation Executive Chair Abdul Khan told FBC News last night that there will be no extension and farmers must do their best to deliver all remaining cane by tonight.

Khan says looking at the current dry conditions, the Lautoka Sugar Mill has performed much better than the previous seasons with continuous crushing in spite of a few minor problems.

He adds almost all the sugar cane grown for the Lautoka Sugar Mill has been harvested and there will be very little stand over crop after crushing ends.
