A 19-year-old farmer has been arrested by police after 22 plots containing 83 plants believed to be marijuana were seized yesterday.

The farmer is from of Nakoroivau, Tailevu.

Chief Intelligence and Investigation Officer, ACP Vakacegu Toduadua says the plants have been sent for analysis and the suspect is in custody as investigation continues.

Meanwhile a 23-year-old man was also arrested at the Nadi Municipal Market yesterday in relation to drugs.

The suspect was found in possession of one sachet of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The drugs has been sent for analysis as the suspect remains in custody.
