Six people were with ten separate counts of serious sexual offences in December.

According to statistics by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution eight were offences of rape and two were sexual assault.

There were six victims who were all under the age of 18-years-old.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with the rape and assault of his 3-year-old nephew.

In another incident, a 71-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 4-year-old granddaughter.

There were two separate incidents where uncles were charged with the rape of their nieces.

In one incident, a 36-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 8-year-old niece while a 24-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 13- year-old niece.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old was charged with the rape of his 17-year-old sister.
