The rape case of a 20-year-old man who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl has been transferred to the Suva High Court.

Jope Ratulailai has been charged with one count of rape and five counts of defilement of a young person between 13 and 16 years of age.

It is alleged that the accused had carnal knowledge of the victim and raped her on November 24th last year.

The Magistrate says the matter is an indictable offence and transferred the case to the Suva High Court.

The case will be recalled on January 25th.
