Police seizure of plants believed to be marijuana from Kadavu

As part of the ongoing drug operations around the country, police officers are revisiting known drug cultivating areas.

Director of Operations, SSP Abdul Khan says over the last 48hours more than 2000 plants believed to be marijuana was uprooted from two separate farms in the Northern and Southern Division.

In Kadavu, officers uprooted more than 1,900 plants from a farm in Lawaki and more than 230 plants from a farm in Lavidi both in the district of Nakasaleka.

In the Northern Division, a team from the Tukavesi Police Station revisited a farm in Loa, Cakaudrove known for the cultivation of marijuana and discovered more than 160 plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 1-2meters.

Investigations continue in all three cases where the search for the owners of the farms continues.

SSP Khan adding that information from members of the public continues to be received on the alleged involvement of drug cultivators and they are grateful for the continuous support.
