The alleged murder-suicide of an elderly couple in Lami

Police will be seeking technical advice from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

This in relation to alleged murder-suicide of an elderly couple in Lami yesterday.

In a statement, Police has confirmed the RFMF was called in to inspect a firearm found at the crime scene in Naqumu place.

The victims were found lying motionless by their son inside their room yesterday morning.

Police had earlier confirmed there were visible injuries on both the victims and an early investigation indicates a case of an alleged murder-suicide.

A post mortem is expected to be conducted soon to determine the cause of death.

Police say they will not make any further comments in relation to the case until all necessary investigation processes are complete
