A team of police officers uprooted more than 2000 plants believed to be marijuana from a farm in Natewa, Cakaudrove yesterday afternoon.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says this was possible after a 28-year-old man was arrested earlier after he was found being in possession of marijuana.
Following his arrest, the man revealed the location of his farm where he had allegedly been cultivating the drugs.
The drugs are yet to be analyzed.
Meanwhile, a man who was standing outside a nightclub in Suva on Saturday night, is in custody for an alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
The man was arrested by police officers who were on mobile patrol, after they saw him acting in a suspicious manner.
The police team searched his pocket and found 1.3 grams of marijuana.
He was later taken in for questioning and charged.
He will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.
