Four admitted following accident in Tavua

Four people are admitted at the Tavua hospital after they sustained injuries in a road accident yesterday.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says despite several awareness and warnings, drivers are not changing their attitude on the road.

SSP Mishra says the four people which includes the driver were allegedly drunk.

He says they were traveling to Toko, Tavua when the vehicle veered off the road and tumbled.

Meanwhile, seven people have been arrested for drink and drive in the last twenty four hours.

SSP Mishra says five drivers were arrested in the Central division while two were arrested in the Western division.

SSP Mishra says two hundred and thirty-four drivers were booked for speeding while nine were booked for careless driving.

In the last twenty-four hours traffic officers have issued three hundred and forty infringements notices for various offenses.

SSP Mishra is warning motorists to be responsible.
