AFP Commissioner sends out stern warning

Australian Federal Police Commissioner, Andrew Colvin has sent out a stern warning to people who want to deal with illicit narcotics both in Fiji and Australia.

During his visit to Fiji, Colvin says police officers from both countries are on their feet when it comes to drugs.

Colvin says they need to deal with this now before it gets out of hand.

“The message out there in Fiji and in Australia who want to deal with illicit narcotics is that our police forces have never been as focused and have never been as cooperative in terms of stamping this out.”

He says they are talking with their partners to see what more they can do to work together, as regional security is paramount.

Colvin adds training opportunities was also part of the discussions to assist Fijian police with their requirements.
