8 arrests made related to drugs over the weekend

Police made eight successful arrests relating to drugs over the weekend.

In the first incident on Saturday, Police arrested a suspect in Brown Lane Nausori, who was found in possession of seven sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Other arrests took place in Tomuka, Lautoka, where Police found four sachets wrapped in aluminum foil and loose dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

A search was conducted in Wainivula Settlement, Barotu, Ra where officers found a plant believed to be marijuana.

Arrests were also made in Martintar Nadi, Shirley Park, Lautoka and Ba Town.

While in the Southern Division, on Saturday at Khalsa road, Nasinu two officers searched a suspected vehicle and arrested two men.

The suspects were found with 7 clear zip lock plastic containing clear crystal believed to be methamphetamine in a pink colored battery operated candle light case – on the dashboard with 2 smoking apparatus.

All suspects are in police custody and the drugs have been taken for analysis as police investigation continues.
