The Land Transport Authority of Fiji has urged drivers to be aware of their surroundings and to remain focused while they are behind the steering wheel.
This comes after an incident where a driver crashed into a major supermarket.
The driver while reversing his vehicle crashed in the supermarket, resulting in five bystanders being rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
LTA Chief Executive, Samuel Simpson, says this is why they are urging drivers to always be wary of their surroundings, especially in areas where there would be a lot of vehicles and pedestrians.
Simpson stresses that it is important for drivers to maintain their focus on driving adding that a single lapse in concentration could become catastrophic.
The LTA CEO says an investigation on the incident is currently ongoing by relevant authorities.
