A rape trial involving two male cousins began in the Suva high court yesterday.
The accused, a 27-year-old man is alleged to have raped his 21-year-old cousin brother on July 6th, 2014 in Suva.
While addressing the assessors of the case, the State lawyer says the accused breached the trust of the victim who was dependent on the people around him for care and protection.
The lawyer says this act was a horrible breach by his cousin as the twenty-one-year-old will now live with this memory for the rest of his life.
The victim took the stand yesterday to explain to the court, the events of when and how the accused committed the attack.
The State lawyer will be presenting two other witnesses, who are victims siblings.
The case is being presented before High Court judge justice Riyaz Hamza.
The trial continues today.
