Australian couple John and Yvette Nikolic

The yacht Shenanigans belonging to Australian couple John and Yvette Nikolic has been forfeited to the state.

More than $30,000 which was undeclared by the couple has also been surrendered to Fiji.

While ruling on this matter, Civil High Court Judge Justice David Alfred says the vessel was used for the carriage and concealment of the goods liable to forfeiture and the yacht itself is liable to forfeiture to the state.

Judge Alfred says the yacht and the currency are to be disposed of as determined by the controller of the customs who is authorized to sign the transfer documents.

Both parties have been advised that they will bear their own costs of proceedings.
