Woman allegedly found with meth in peanut butter bottle bailed

A clerical officer charged in relations to with drug-related charges has been granted bail.

Mereseini Asenate Luisa Ledua appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Ledua has been charged with one count of importing illicit drugs and one count of being in possession of illicit drugs namely Methamphetamine.

It is alleged that on July 12th in Suva Fiji Ledua illegally imported and had in her possession 101.4 grams of Methamphetamine.

She was arrested while picking up a parcel from the Suva Post Office last Friday which allegedly contained Methamphetamine.

The drugs weighed 101.4 grams and valued at $115, 000 were packed in a bottle of peanut butter. It was sent from America.

The prosecution did not object to bail but requested strict conditions.

Ledua has been released on a $1000 cash bail bond and $1000 surety bond.

A stop departure order has been imposed.

The case will be recalled on July 31st for the plea.
