Two sentenced for stealing school assets

Two men who broke into a school and stole smartphones have been handed suspended sentences.

18-year-old Ulaiasi Toni and 22-year-old Kiniviliame Rokotagene broke into the Coloinavakacere Primary School in Vatukarasa Tailevu by removing louver blades in the staff room.

The two then made off with five smart-phones which were later sold to a third party.

Toni and Rokotagene were arrested and admitted to the break-in their caution interview.

Both then pleaded guilty to Aggravated Burglary and Theft in the Suva High Court.

They have been given 3-year sentences, suspended for 5 years.
