In court today, Defense counsel made an oral bail application but it was denied on the grounds that a formal application needs to be made.

The Magistrate says murder is an indictable offence and an oral application would not be accepted.

Prosecution did not serve disclosures as it was not ready.

The two have been remanded in custody and will re-appear on the 18th of this month.

Meanwhile, Apisai Lomani is charged with another count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.

It is alleged on December 30th in Kadavu, Lomani cultivated 23 plants of Indian hemp also known as marijuana weighing at 10.5kg.

Disclosures are yet to be served.

The matter will be recalled on January 18th.
