A one week trial has been set for three men accused of raping an eleven-year-old girl and impregnating her.

The men appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar at the Labasa High Court for a pre-trial conference yesterday.

State prosecutors told the court, the girl has given birth and the child has been given for adoption.

However, they cannot ascertain at this point who of the three accused fathered the child as they had refused to consent to DNA testing.

Prosecutors added they will be calling witnesses for the trial which also includes the eleven-year-old girl.

They will also rely on the caution interview.

The court was told there is full admission from the three men during the caution interview.

All three had pleaded not guilty to the rape charges and are currently on bail.

The incident happened last year.

Defense lawyers have also indicated the accused will also take the stand along with a few witnesses.

The trial has been set for March 18th before Justice Paul Madigan.
