Trial date set for men who allegedly stole Marijuana from Police post

A trial date has been set for three men who are alleged to have robbed a Police Post on Koro Island last year.

Paula Vura alongside with Apete Turagatani and Navitalai Loatuicama will stand trial from the 4th to the 22nd of May next year.

The three are each charged with one count of aggravated burglary and theft.

It is alleged that between January 13th and 15th last year, in Koro Island, the three men unlawfully entered the Police Post with the intention to commit theft.

During the same period, the three were also alleged to have stolen five plants believed to be marijuana from the Koro Island Community Post exhibit room.

In court, today, agreed facts were served to the defense and state informed court that it will rely on the caution interview.

There will also be three defense counsels for cross-examination.

The state has also been given 21 days to file voir dire.

The three have been further remanded.

The matter will be recalled for a pre-trial conference on June 5th.
