Iliesa Cuanilawa is charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and assault with intent to rape.

The trial date of a man charged with robbery and rape-related charges has been vacated.

Iliesa Cuanilawa is charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and assault with intent to rape.

The trial was expected to start next Monday and end on Friday but it has been vacated.

In court, today  Legal Aid informed the court that Cuanilawa wished to remove Legal Aid as his counsel and was not ready for the trial.

It is alleged that on February 27th this year, at Vuci Road in Nausori, he robbed the complainant of items worth $4228.

It is also alleged that on the same day he assaulted the victim with intent to commit rape.

The case will be recalled on October 25th.
