While sentencing Reddy Justice Goundar said the man exploited the vulnerability of the victim.

The court heard that Reddy raped a woman at a resort in Nadi last November.

The woman had gone to a hotel in Nadi to withdraw money from an ATM.

She was depressed and suicidal and started talking about her personal problems with Reddy and a woman she met at the hotel.

The Court heard she went inside the hotel room where Reddy offered her marijuana.

The court heard that after taking two puffs, she passed out and by the time she gained consciousness, she was being driven to another place.

The court also heard that Reddy had also made explicit videos of the victim and threatened her.

A non-parole period of seven years has been set.
