The Suva Magistrates Court has granted an application made by the People’s Community Network Director Semiti Qalowasa to take a fresh plea.
Qalowasa’s counsel made an application to vacate his guilty plea earlier and he will now take plea next month.
He is charged in relation to inquiries into the controversial Lagilagi Housing project, a government housing initiative for low-income earners.
Qalowasa is charged with failure to furnish information to the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission.
It is alleged that in January, Qalowasa failed to furnish documents to the FCCC officers such as building plans, contracts, receipts, details of payments collected, audited financial reports, bank statements among other documents.
The case has been adjourned to July 16th for plea.
