Prime Fiji Limited acquitted

Prime Fiji Limited who were charged by Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption has been acquitted by the Suva Magistrates court.

The company was charged with one count of forgery and one count of Using Forged Documents in 2016.

FICAC had alleged that Prime Fiji submitted a falsified Westpac Security Bond of over three hundred and fifty-one thousand dollars to the Fiji Roads Authority while negotiating a street light renewal agreement.

While delivering her judgement yesterday, the Suva Magistrate said that the prosecution had not produced enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the document had in fact been accepted by the Fiji Roads Authority.

The Magistrate then acquitted the company of both counts.
