Former Fiji 7s player Amenoni Nasilasila

Former Fiji 7s player Amenoni Nasilasila who is charged with one count of rape has today pleaded not guilty.

26-year-old Nasilasila is alleged to have raped a 24-year-old woman in Olosara, Sigatoka last December.

The charge and particulars of the case were read to Nasilasila in the Lautoka High Court who indicated that he understood them.

The prosecution also stated in court today that instructions from the DPP is also to not withdraw the case.

The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called on the 10th of next month.

Bail has been extended for Nasilasila.
