Fiji 7's player Amenoni Nasilasila granted bail

Fiji 7’s player Amenoni Nasilasila has today been granted bail by the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

Nasilasila who is charged with the alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman was in remand since Christmas Eve.

Magistrate Jeremaia Savou granted the 31-year-old bail under strict conditions.

Magistrate Savou told Nasilasila not to surrender his passport, however, informed him that a stop departure has been put in place.

Nasilasila was also told not to interfere with the witness.

Fiji 7’s Team Manager Jone Niurua was also one of Nasilasila’s sureties.

It is alleged the incident happened last Sunday, following which, he surrendered himself at the Sigatoka Police Station.

The case has been transferred to the Lautoka High Court and will be called on the 28th of next month.
