A 58-year-old businessman from Nadi who allegedly raped his 24-year-old employee will appear in the Lautoka High Court today.

The man is charged with one count of rape and one count of attempted rape.

It is alleged the accused raped his employee on two different occasions between December last year and January, this year.

He was granted bail in the last sitting in the Nadi Magistrates Court with a sum of three thousand dollars with two sureties after a medical certificate was shown in court that he had a kidney transplant.

The accused surrendered his passport and a stop departure is also part of his bail conditions.
