Convicted rapist and murderer Josua Colanaudolu’s leave to appeal has been granted by the Court of Appeal.

Colanaudolu is appealing his conviction and sentence.

The former security officer was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 for the rape and abuse of three young girls between April 1998 and March 2016.

He was also convicted of abducting, rape and murdering a 14-year-old girl in 2016.

The High Court Judge ruled that Coalnaudolu was to serve a minimum of 30 years in prison before applying for a pardon by the President.

The appeal hearing will be called on notice.
