Man to front court for alleged aggravated robbery

One of the two men arrested over the weekend for his alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery in Nadi has been charged.

The 27-year-old accused who is alleged to have been the getaway driver has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

He will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court today.

Meanwhile, another suspect was arrested yesterday and is currently being questioned with the other two suspects.

The three allegedly robbed a woman in her 60’s outside the ANZ Bank Namaka Branch in Nadi.

Police say the woman was allegedly robbed while on her way to the bank with her company’s takings of more than $15,000 in cash and cheques.

All suspects are in their 20s and one is believed to be a former employee of the company.

He was employed by the 60-year-old victim.
