Man remanded over alleged murder of Auckland businessman

A 32-year-old man who is charged with the murder of a New Zealand national has been further remanded by the Suva High Court.

It is alleged that Rusiate Raiwalu murdered Ashkan Farsani Rikthegazader in Lami on 8th May.

Raiwalu’s bail application was denied.

It is understood Farsani was a businessman from Auckland, involved in taro export.

He was dropped off near the CWM Hospital Accident and Emergency ward, in a Silver Toyota Prius, but attempts to revive him were futile.

The matter will be recalled on July 10th.
